Ultimate aviation spring break playlist: get the party started at 30,000 feet

It’s March which means Spring Break is upon us, probably all month since unlike the standard Christmas Break, Spring Breaks do what they want.

Unfortunately this means that if you work in aviation you’re victim to droves of Spring Breakers prepping for that most beautiful opportunities youth offers- the chance to go drink disposable water bottles full of Franzia on a beach while dudes who know exactly 1.3 songs play their guitars by bonfires.

But we know that you’re still relevant. You’re still cool. You know what “rizz” is (charisma, it’s gen Z for charisma, we went over this).

And now to play “Wonderwall” at you without blinking

And you’re ready to help the legions of SPF-laden travelers get their party started, and we are too. That’s why we’ve decided it’s time for another playlist for you to recommend/show off your timeless cool factor.

  • Holiday – Madonna

Sure, it’s a classic, but it’s a classic for a reason, and would sound killer over a plane PA system. Also, Madonna is inherently relevant both for her timeless jams and her sinewy arms, stronger than any lineman or farmer.

  • Life is a Highway – Tom Cochrane

Also vintage, but let’s be real- most of the spring breakers on your flights are going to be well-acquainted with this song’s renaissance moment from the Cars franchise of their youth. They’ll love it.

  • Gypsy – Fleetwood Mac

When you feel yourself losing the attention and/or respect of your bikini-clad seekers of spring merriment, deploy the Fleetwood Mac card. Again, not because they’re modern but because they aren’t and they make you seem like you too, finished a term-paper on gender studies after attending your local animal-testing protest.

  • Fly AwayLenny Kravitz

Have you seen this man? Never not cool. Always smooth. This song slaps.

  • Paradise – Coldplay

Coldplay is still cool right? Coldplay was never cool? But that means…

  • Here I Go Again – Whitesnake

Yeah I know it’s from the 80s but it’s all about the solo sojourn and it goes hard- a real mood lifter. We recommend a right-before-descent listen to get your crowd really pumped up to land in Tampa.

  • Wide Open Spaces – The Chicks

Is a motel room shared by 8 college kids a wide open space? No, we might be going off the rails a bit…

  • Don’t Stop Believing – Journey

It’s the over-used karaoke ballad of choice for a reason.

  • The Wanderer – Dion

Oh god, this one is from the 60s…

Know what? None of these songs are from before 2012 and we will see ourselves out. You’re on your own, we’ll be over here drinking our Sleepy Time tea in bed at 8:30, but Merry Spring Break to all who celebrate.
